On his third single, Reality Jonez brings a new dimension to his "new oldies" sound, by upping the usual tempo to a more danceable pace, and melding it with warm synth work that suggests the influence of late 70's/early 80's proto-boogie that became the dancefloor standard in R&B circles of the day. Still saying true to his soul-based roots, the track is nonetheless carried by pianos, plucking guitars, and live drums, effectively forming a bridge between the sometimes distant worlds of contemporary soul and synth funk.
Jonez' vocals reach out to the woman he's been longing for, hoping that she will "just say yes" to his propositions of love. His straightforward sentiment proves that the tried-and-true subjects of love and romance never sound tired when delivered authentically.
